Juventus are reportedly still looking to strengthen their attacking options before the summer transfer window shuts, with Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta emerging as a potential target for the Serie A giants.
The Turin club have already made significant changes to their forward line during the current transfer window, but their recruitment plans may not be finished yet. Juventus are believed to be considering another striker in an effort to provide greater depth and competition in attack ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have identified Mateta as a player who could fit their requirements. The French forward currently plays for Crystal Palace and has established himself as one of the club’s most important attacking players.
Juventus’ interest comes after the departure of Dusan Vlahovic, who decided against extending his contract with the Bianconeri and subsequently left Turin.
Although Juventus have already brought in Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain as a replacement, the club are apparently still exploring the possibility of adding another proven striker to their squad.
Luciano Spalletti Wants Mateta in Turin
One of the main reasons behind Juventus’ interest in Mateta is believed to be head coach Luciano Spalletti.
The Italian manager reportedly appreciates Mateta’s style of play and believes the French striker possesses several qualities that could benefit Juventus.
Mateta is known for his physical strength, pace and ability to finish chances inside the penalty area. His imposing frame also allows him to compete effectively against physical defenders, while his speed can make him dangerous when attacking open spaces.
